Case Studies

Grove Academy pupils have been improving their local environment, working closely with local groups, such as Broughty Ferry in Bloom and their local primary school:

  • The pupils carry out litter picks, an annual beach clean and litter survey for the Marine Conservation Society’s Great British Beach Clean. They supported campaigns: Keep Scotland Beautiful’s ‘Give Your Litter a Lift’ and ‘My Beach, Your Beach’ campaign through litter picking and litter surveys.

  • The pupils also help brighten up their local environment and improve biodiversity by planting in two areas of Broughty Ferry: Shiell Street and Queen Street car park. Both projects are registered with the It’s Your Neighbourhood scheme.
